The Steering Committee of the Chair ensures the supervision of the usage of the funds. It receives and examines accounts receivable and payable of the Chair in addition to giving its approval to the operating budget. It sets up a Scientific Committee who appoints its own members, whose rules of eligibility to the grants it defines and receives the grant applications recommended only by the Scientific Committee. It looks after the development of the Chair.
The Steering Committee is made up of three people who represent the University (the dean, the holder of the Chair and a professor of the Faculty of Theology and Religious Studies) and of two other people officially appointed by l’Oeuvre du Grand Séminaire de Québec. If need be, the committee can be completed by another professor of Université Laval, by a donor or by a representative of an organization whose interests are compatible with those of the Chair.
